Studio 171 is a cozy, community-driven art boutique owned by four local artists. We showcase each founder’s unique creations alongside a curated selection of handmade goods from fellow regional makers — ceramics, prints, textiles, jewelry, and small-batch homewares. Our space celebrates accessible, original art: affordable pieces for everyday spaces, one-of-a-kind works, and thoughtful gifts. Visitors can browse, commission custom pieces, or join workshops that teach hands-on techniques. Studio 171 is where local creativity connects — welcoming, sustainable, and proudly handmade.

Josh is co-owner of Studio 171 and a dedicated jade artist whose work celebrates the stone’s global diversity. Sourcing jade from Guatemala, Wyoming, Siberia and, most famously, Big Sur, CA, he transforms each unique piece into intricate carvings and signature high-polish jade earrings. His carvings reveal the stone’s character through detailed form and texture, while his earrings are polished to catch the light, emphasizing jade’s natural color and depth. Thoughtful about material and technique, Josh blends traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design to highlight jade’s timeless beauty.
