Mushroom Workshop November 21st
Stained Glass Mushroom: Copper Foil, Solder & Bead Workshop Date & Time: November 21st, 2026 • 2:00–5:00 PM Age Requirement: 15+ (Participants ages 15–17 must be accompanied by a parent who is also enrolled.)
Class Overview Create a whimsical stained glass mushroom using the copper foil method. Students will choose from pre-cut, ground glass pieces and learn hands-on techniques to foil, solder, and finish their piece. After soldering, enjoy a relaxed beading session to add decorative accents and personalize your work. Light snacks and drinks will be provided during the beading portion of the workshop.
What You’ll Learn
Proper handling and layout of pre-cut stained glass pieces
Applying copper foil cleanly and evenly
Safe soldering techniques for seams and finishing edges
Cleaning and patina application (if desired)
Adding beads and decorative elements to enhance your design
Materials & Tools - All pre-cut and ground glass pieces, foil, solder and beads are provided. Shared soldering irons and safety equipment will be used. If you prefer, you may bring small personal beads or embellishments.
Safety & Requirements
Participants must be at least 15 years old. Ages 15–17 require a parent/guardian to enroll and attend.
By signing up, participants acknowledge and accept that Studio 171 and its instructors are not liable for injuries sustained during the workshop. You understand that you will be working with hot tools (soldering irons) and chemicals and agree not to hold Studio 171, its owners, or teachers responsible for injuries or damages.
Closed-toe shoes and long hair tied back are recommended. Safety goggles and ventilation will be provided.
What to Expect This three-hour class balances instruction and hands-on work. Expect one-on-one guidance as you learn each step. The soldering portion requires focused attention; beading and finishing take place in a more relaxed setting with snacks and refreshments.
